Anthony Jones (U.K.) Ltd (AJL) is a UK-authorised insurance intermediary.
On 9 July 2026, AJL agreed to stop carrying out any regulated activity, including acting as an insurance intermediary. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) subsequently urged customers who purchased an insurance policy through AJL to contact the underwriter or insurer directly to check whether the policy is valid and cover remains in place. You can read this news story on the FCA’s website.
On 11 August 2026, Duncan Beat and Nicholas Simmonds of Quantuma Advisory Ltd were appointed as joint liquidators of AJL. You can read the joint liquidators’ update on their website.
Customers have been given details of the alternative broker now dealing with their policy. They can contact that broker if they need further information.
We understand that many customers have confirmed that their insurance cover remains in place. However, some may find that, despite paying for insurance, the policy was not placed with an insurer and so no cover exists.Latest updates

FSCS is now open to claims from customers who have paid for insurance through AJL but find themselves without the relevant cover and are unable to recover the premiums paid by other means.
FSCS has eligibility criteria in respect of the activities and the people who are covered. In general terms, FSCS protection applies to individuals and small companies. You can find more information about what is covered on our website.
Although we are accepting claims against AJL, they will not be immediately passed to our claims processing teams for assessment. We are currently investigating the situation to understand more about what has happened. We will be working closely with the joint liquidators and the FCA.
The latest news regarding our work on AJL will appear on this page. We will update this page as our investigations progress. Customers should subscribe to this page to receive the latest updates.
It’s free to make a claim with FSCS and you don’t need to use a representative or a solicitor. If you claim directly with us, you will receive 100% of any compensation.
